Inna Zavadsky, LMFT, SEP
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Making the decision to seek therapy arises from various life experiences, and taking the first step is courageous. You might be navigating feelings of sadness, worry, stress or overwhelm. You may have experienced a traumatic event or a great loss. You are trying to break free from maladaptive patterns in your life. You want healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Finding the right therapist can seem daunting, and I am here to support your healing journey.
I believe the connection you have with your therapist is the essential component needed in order to have a positive and productive experience in therapy.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I am empathic, collaborative, and provide support with compassion and respect. I look forward to working together toward your growth.
Exploring the Process
I utilize a trauma informed approach, where I draw from various treatment modalities and principles including Experiential, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Somatic, Mindfulness-based, Emotionally Focused and Psychodynamic therapies in order to identify your goals and create an effective treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Treatment may take a few sessions for brief, solution-focused therapy, or longer if family of origin issues will be explored.
My practice primarily encompasses serving individuals and couples. I am dedicated to providing affirmative therapy supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. I work with different cultures, ages, backgrounds and professions, and I deeply value the diverse perspectives my clients share.
When working with couples, I draw from an Emotionally Focused Therapy perspective. I help with healing ruptured connections by discovering negative patterns of interaction, identifying unmet needs, building empathy, and most significantly, instilling hope.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #51957), with a private practice based in Los Angeles. I works with individuals, couples and families.
I held the position of Program Therapist for an Outpatient Psychiatric Program with a community hospital located in the San Fernando Valley, where I conducted individual and group therapy for the adult and geriatric populations.
I strengthened my knowledge and understanding of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, as well as gained expertise in individual, child, couple and family therapy, in private practice settings. This included receiving education from UCLA's Anxiety Disorders Clinic. I specialized in psychodynamic therapy working with Airport Marina Counseling Service. I began my career at Los Angeles Free Clinic, focused on crisis intervention and triage.
I earned my M.A. in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA, and my B.A. in Modern Literature from University of California, Santa Cruz. Trained as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner from the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, I specialize in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder / Trauma Resolution.
In addition, I completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) from the EMDR Institute.
